Aliki Stroumpouli
Passionate about art and jewellery, Aliki Stroumpouli first studied Sculpture and Photography at the Athens School of Fine Arts before moving to London to pursue an MA in Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, Metalwork and Jewellery at the Royal College of Art.
Upon her return to Greece, she opened her own Atelier where she designs contemporary jewellery on a quest for the extraordinary and the unique. Aliki has collaborated with esteemed cultural institutions to design limited edition collections, such as the Barbican Centre and the Sir John Soane's Museum in London and the Benaki Museum in Athens.
In 2019 she received the Artmagazin award during the Budapest Jewelry Week. Her work has been featured in many publications, including the Jewelbook: International Annual of Contemporary Jewel Art 12|13 and the Showcase 500 Beaded Jewelry.
Aliki Stroumpouli creates jewellery that dive into the surreal realms of imagination. Her intuitive design process stems from a philosophical question or a genuine visual attraction.
Skilled in the use of contemporary methods, she designs her idiosyncratic sculptural shapes in 3D modelling programs to be then handcrafted in precious metals at a local workshop. Stones or enamel are added as a final step, highlighting that distinctive edgy quality that makes Aliki’s creations stand out.
Quirky but sophisticated they make a subtle but scandalous statement for the wandering eye.
